Grants for Felons with Tax Day April 15, 2010

Grants for felons can be obtained for college but you have to first complete the FASFA form to determine your eligibility based on finances. Since today is the deadline to file your federal income taxes, be sure to make this day the day you also file your FASFA form online. Remember, even if you make a decent living and if you think you won’t qualify for a Pell Grant, you still need to have the FASFA form completed to qualify for any grants for school. As always, keep in mind that college grants for felons come from a variety of resources including Pell grants and local and state grants the school have information on. Make April 15th, your day to complete your federal taxes and file your FASFA.  Also, with the FASFA form completion, your college or technical school can determine what loans for felons you will qualify for as well.    The FASFA is vital to qualifying for any financial aid for education.

Grants for Felons Secured with Health Care Reform

Grants for felons are often obtained through Pell Grant programs. Without health care reform passing this week, the Pell Grant program was in jeopardy of being underfunded which would have significantly cut Pell Grans for felons award amounts and jeopardize efforts to get funding for school. With the passage to the health care reform bill, Pell Grant funding will continue at full steam ahead which means many people who have been convicted of a felony will be able to continue tapping into this type of grant funding for their educational needs. We are so pleased this benefit is still available to those of us who need work and need education to get our lives back on track!
