Government Grants to Pay Bills, Utility Bills

Grants for felons come in a variety of shapes and sizes and often they are not even grants designed solely for felons.

If you are a convicted felon, it is important to look outside of your felony conviction to find grants that are available to you simply because you have financial need or you may be unemployed.  As the summer months approach, many felons are working diligently to find employment but, at the same time, may struggle to keep up with essential utility payments.  If you are having difficulty in paying your utility bills, especially your electricity bill, it is important to call your utility company and ask about hardship grants.  Under many state and federal laws, utility providers are not permitted to disconnect services when they are not paid if you meet certain requirements.  In addition, there are grant programs that can assist you with utility payments when you have a hardship.  To find out about these programs, look up your utility companies website and be sure to look at small print in the footer of the site as this is where they often display links for the grants programs.  In addition, call your state utility commission and ask about grant programs.  There are government grants to pay bills, you just have to search and ask about them.  Most utility companies will not readily offer the information to you unless you ask and when looking for grants for felons, we know it’s all about asking if you want to get something.

Here at Grants for Felons, we are starting a new tradition in 2010 to “pay it forward” to all of our readers and supporters.  We will begin, starting March of 2010, to have monthly drawings in which we will give away cash or gifts including free business guides, electronic items, gift cards, etc.    Here at Grants for Felons, we understand how difficult it is for those convicted of a felony to find gainful employment and to find funding for education.   In an effort to support our readers and supporters, we will have these monthly drawings at the end of each month.  Depending on the interest, we may consider increasing them to twice per month.

The next drawing will be held at 10pmCST, on March 31, 2010, in our offices.   We will announce the winner of the prize for March, on that drawing date.  Please know that the final decision for prize and drawing awards are at the sole discretion of Grants for Felons and its affiliates.   There is no purchase necessary to win but you must be over the age of 18.

For the March drawing, which will end at 10pmCST on March 31, 2010, we are giving away one $25 cash award!   To be eligible and entered into this drawing, you will need to have a PayPal account so we can send payment to you should you be our winner.   Once the winner is chosen, we will get your PayPal information at that time.

To enter the drawing, simply sign up here.  Upon doing so, you’ll be registered into our newsletter database which will alert you to all future drawings we will hold as well as provide updates to you on our grants for felons and jobs for felons insider tips and advice.

Good luck and be sure to sign up for our Twitter feed or our RSS feed as well as we will continue to send out job and grant tips and advice for those with a felony conviction!   Also, be sure to repost this drawing notice on Twitter or your Facebook page as we welcome any and all felons who are interested in submitting their name and email address for entry into the drawing this month.
