Housing for felons can be found through a number of local resources and many counties and states are now offering grants for low income families, including felons, to purchase housing within specified city limits.   Understanding there is a move away from apartment living, many private apartment communities are also turning to grant type programs to entice new renters to come into the apartment complex.   If you are looking for ex felon grants, and if you are looking for apartments for felons, then you will definately want to look into the grants that are offered for felons.  Typically, these types of grants can be found by calling around to local property management companies and inquiring about programs that are offered for at risk families.   With many organizations helping families by offering grants for at risk youth, you can find grants for housing as well.  Call apartment management companies and then also call the state agency that regulates apartment rentals as this is also another resource for housing grants and apartment grants.

Government grants for felons can be found through a variety of social services in your community but also through federal and state programs.   If you are the parent, or legal guardian, of children who have a parent who is incarcerated, it is important to look for government grants programs that are designed for low income families.  For example, children of inmates can typically obtain Pell grants to go to college in they have a parent who is incarcerated for a felony conviction.  The reason for this is because the parent has very little income, if any, which entitles the dependent children to financial aid for school.  Passports for children can also be paid for through local grants that help felons, and their families with maintaining legal documents necessary for travel.  When looking for grants, keep in mind that not only are social private companies willing to help but the children of inmates are often eligible for a whole array of grants through private and public organizations.
