In 1995 I was sentenced to an eight year term at the age of 18.I ended up sevring the entire sentence out and was released at the age of 26..I’ve been free and out of any trouble for the 16 years..I’ve worked a few good jobs but nothing that challeged my mind and push me to be better..I’m a very intelligent person with a world of potential and i deserve the chance to explore a better tomorrow..My life is depending on how i prepare myself and I’m ready to make the next move with your help….I’ve already taken the first step and enrolled myself in Tennessee Tech in Memphis…Please contact me..!Thank You..I NEED FINANCIAL AID…

i wasincarcerated for 17 years i,ve been out for 6 years i had ajob for 1 year untill the company sold it,s buisness every since then i,ve been trying to find another job,you know it,s strange how this country can offer assistance to other parts of the world,even let people come to the united states and pay for their education get them a grant,hook them up with their own buisness but we,ve been here all of our lives and can,t even get a job ,but the governent is very quick to send me or you to fight a bogash war! people wake up it,s not about us it,s about the goverment trying to get what they can from other nations,just look around you people look at all the people,s homeless,eating out of the garbage can,s ,not just single people but famailies now you do the math!what i,ve learned about texas is that it,s all about self preservation,they don,t mind and we don,t matter,we will continue to be the low man !untill they let this president do his job! and quit hatiting on him,all i,m saying is,how can you help another country ,when you have people starving in this country,something is realy wrong ,good luck people and god bless america!!!!!!!

Im a convicted felon and i have applied for the grant a long time ago, and still nothing. so if your waiting for the grant forget it. it wont happen. i have been having the worst time finding a job that will hire me. all i want is a chance to work. but i cant seem to get that. but to those im my position. dont give up, and keep your head up.

guys be encouraged ! ! ! ! i am a woman i was on parole after doing 4 years in prison 1997 i got out and thought my worries were over after marriage then after 16 years of being married he had a baby with another woman during our marriage confessed all he wanted was a green card and a son by this time he already had both now i live with my brother and his wife i am 2 years in recovery and a college graduate as a dental assistant but the w # 66170 will not allow me to move forward with my life the mattrer gets worse b cause im on probation too youre not alone and there are others who like mysself can only look to GOD in heaven to provide keep pushing just hold on ! ! ! ! ! !

I’m a 3 time loser and about to pull some county time as a plea out of a habitual charge. I am tired and too old for the cell life. I jsut file for fed aid to go back to school Fall 2011 semester. haven’t gotten results from pell, but i’m hacking at the computer trying to find anything for ex-felons. i’v heard over and aver while in lock that there is all this stuff out there for felons, but i can’t seemto find anything legit. If anyone out there has any advice, e-mail me and let a Proud Peck know. Stay free bro’s.

As the two previous posters, I had some great job offers pending background check, I have never done time, however, I do have a suspended sentence which will expire on 2013, yet getting onboard is becoming an impossible task. I am getting very disappointed, and do look forward to any suggestions anyone may have. I have gone throught all my savings and the future does look pretty bleak. No work no money, no bills will be paid.
