Grants for Felons Using Military Family Charities

College grants for felons often come through Pell grants and grants geared directly to convicted felons as an at-risk group. There are other grants you may be able to use, however, and these can come through your connections with businesses and government services. If you were in the military, or if you have family who is in the military, you may be able to utilize the college grants offered through Army Aviation Scholarship Foundation. This program offers grants to military personnel, and their families, after receiving donations from private organizations and other military family charities.  While there are many military charities that offer assistance with student loans to study abroad, most will help with grants instead of loans, and most want your education to be local to one of their chapters.   In addition, once you have completed your education, these same military family charities may even help you find felon jobs that do not require a background check.   The point all of this is that, when you are a convicted felon, you have to think outside the box and look for ways to get education grants and funding from sources that are close to your family and may have nothing to do with your felony conviction.
